Training

Sooooooo...... 60 miles in 3 days.... this is going to take a lot of training!

Being a completely out-of-shape mom of 3, I'm getting a little apprehensive about this walk! I haven't been able to do a ton of actual training yet since the kids are home (and it's been averaging about 150 degrees here in Georgia this summer!!) but with school about to start back up for the fall I can start on the real training. I have been walking a lot this summer, but it's been in flip-flops and pushing a stroller... not exactly the conditions I will be walking under in October! Looking forward to my real training though :) And I think that 3 months should be enough time to get myself ready! I will update on here with my logged miles as I start tracking them, so you can see my progress!

I'm starting to get more serious about the training now..! I'm hydrating my body as much as I can leading up to the walk, and starting today working on a diet/exercise program to try and get into better shape before this huge demand on myself! Starting off not too vigorously, but I hope to be doing a lot better in a couple of weeks. Also getting ready to go buy some 3-day shoes and start breaking them in!

I have joined a team for the walk! I will now be walking with Kat's Courage team, you can see the blog under my link love section. Some of the money I raise once I meet my minimum will go to help the rest of the team members reach their minimums, as well.  That has nothing to do with training, but I thought I would share! I will also have people to train with now! So that should help a lot with my motivation (or lack thereof!) I look forward to meeting all of these women and to walking with them!
As for my physical training, I have continued to walk and hopefully tomorrow will start my early morning runs, before it gets sticky hot and the kids are up needing my attention..! I had intended to start this morning but had a hard time crawling out of bed..!
