My Fundraisers

Ongoing:  Sale of Donated, Handcrafted items
I spent a while right after signing up for the walk asking complete strangers to donate their beautiful creations to me to help raise the $2300 I needed to walk in the 3-Day. I was absolutely blown away by the response that I received! I did not in a million years expect to meet so many generous, talented, and just wonderful people through essentially begging from them! I have gotten some of the most creative things sent to me to sell, and 100% of the sale prices of these items is being applied directly to my fundraiser. I am getting more things in all the time, so please check back here frequently to see what's new!

April 30th - May 1st, 2010:  Yard Sale for the Cure!
This was my very first fundraiser held. MANY generous people from around the area donated their yard sale items... my dining room was piled high with donations! I think we had a little bit TOO much stuff, haha! $520 was raised through this effort (which also consisted of a bake sale table, face painting, and sale of donated items at full price from artisans) and was split equally with another 3-day walker who collaborated with me on this sale. When we were finished, there was still a TON of stuff left over! Rather than saving it- I needed my dining room back!!- we decided to donate the leftover yard sale items to another 3-day walker for her fundraising efforts.

Saturday, July 17th 2010:  Wine Tasting Fundraiser
My friends at Kingfisher Wine Shop in Towne Lake offered to host a wine tasting fundraiser for me at the shop! We charged $15/person as an entry fee, and Kingfisher donated 10% of the total sales from the evening. We had a great group come out for this event! Ramon Kulich from Quality Wine and Spirits poured for it, and included in the tasting was a wine that supports breast cancer research itself! I brought with me all of my sale items that were donated for my fundraising efforts, but I don't think that I had them displayed well enough because I only sold one set of wine charms :( All in all though, it was a fantastically successful fundraiser, and we were able to raise a total of $540!!

Not a fundraiser- but I donated my hair!!
Today (July 31st) when taking the kids for their back-to school haircuts, I got mine chopped off as well to donate to Locks of Love.

Upcoming Fundraisers!!!
I am planning a LOT more fun events to continue raising money, and hopefully greatly exceed the minimum fundraising amount of $2300! Here are some of the ideas that have been floating around in my head, waiting to come to life :)
Sale of the donated items during the fall Community Yard Sale in my neighborhood- basically skip the whole yard sale part of the yard sale that we did in the spring, and only sell the items that were donated for my ongoing sale, although I hope that they'll mostly be gone by then! I may do another bake sale at this one, and the kids are dying to do a lemonade stand! The dates for the sale will be October 1st and 2nd
Silpada Party Online- my great friend Morgan is a Silpada dealer, and has offered to host an online party for me and donate a portion of the sales to my fundraiser!
Beer Pong tournament- Still working out the details of this, but basically I stole the idea from my brother :) It should be a lot of fun!!
Another Wine Tasting- Kingfisher has opened their store for me to do another fundraiser in October!! Hopefully we'll do even better this time!
Home Party with Val's Happy Shack- The ladies at Val's said they would do a home party with me and donate a portion to my fundraiser
